On June 20 at 8:00 p.m., the Cultural Department of Jēkabpils District invites you to a summer solstice concert with the band “Tautumeitas” in Jēkabpils, at the Krustpils open-air stage!
The band “Tautumeitas” is an ethno-pop music group that incorporates Latvian folk song melodies and lyrics into their music, creating powerful harmonies fused with modern beats and sounds, crafting a magical and strong new Latvian sound. The group is also creative with their visual image – their costumes and crowns reflect how close the “traditional” and “futuristic” really are. Their appearance is cosmic yet simultaneously authentic, strong, and feminine.
Audiences will also be delighted by the intermediate generation folk dance ensemble “Delve” from Jēkabpils People's House and the youth dance ensemble “Delveri” from Krustpils Cultural Center. In the live performance of “Tautumeitas,” the ensembles will dance choreographies created specifically for the group's music.
The event will take place in a picturesque location by the Daugava River – Krustpils Island. We invite you to arrive on time and enjoy the panorama of the city surrounded by the Daugava, as well as to draw inspiration from the summer solstice traditions in the characteristic activities.
