Beat the Drums, My Beloved
The first part of the concert will feature unheard compositions, while the second part is intended for singing along with the audience, including well-known songs such as 'Only Rain', 'Beat the Drums, My Beloved', 'With Streams to the Sea', 'Song of Lilies', 'You Had No Time', 'I Will Write', 'My Angel', 'Autobuss Debesīs', and others.
The band's lead singer, Marts Kristians Kalniņš, shares his feelings about the upcoming concert: "Time! Time is a human invention because it seems like just yesterday - the moment when the idea of the band 'Autobuss Debesīs' was born. Our greatest support during our celebrations has been our loyal music listeners over these 25 years, with whom we will be able to meet and sing along again after a long time! I am sincerely delighted that our original 'Autobuss Debesīs' members, guitarist Andrejs Grimms and keyboardist Ervings Znotiņš living in Sweden, will join us in these concerts. See you there! Let's sing together! Let's dance!"
The band 'Autobuss Debesīs' was formed in 1998 when former schoolmates - Marts Kristians Kalniņš and Emīls Zilberts - decided to realize a long-cherished dream and established a group whose repertoire was based on Imants Kalniņš' music - including the composer's most popular songs from various periods and specially composed pieces for this lineup. In the band's 25-year repertoire, six studio albums have been created, containing songs that have become not only widely recognized melodies over the years but have also withstood the test of time, becoming significant symbols of an era. The artists have performed concerts throughout Latvia, played in several European countries and the USA, and participated in numerous large-scale events.
This concert tour will be accompanied by a special fact - the author of the lyrics of the band's first studio album and the song 'Beat the Drums, My Beloved' is the poet Viks (Viktors Kalniņš), who will celebrate his 85th anniversary this year.
