The Joy of Cherry Blossom Concert in Full Bloom

The cherry blossom concert at the Cherry Garden of the Dobele Horticultural Institute takes place every year and marks the celebration of cherry blossoms. The cherry blossom blooming is one of the most beautiful events of the year, as the bushes with their diverse, colorful flowers scent and adorn every place they bloom. The concert in the Cherry Garden is a gift for those who have patiently and lovingly cared for the garden throughout the year and for those invited to enjoy this garden together with a wonderfully spring-themed concert program.

The concert will feature soloists Jolanta Strikaite, Jānis Apeinis, and Juris Jope, with music suitable for the cherry blossom celebration including excerpts from V.A. Mozart's opera 'Don Giovanni,' G. Rossini's opera 'The Barber of Seville,' G. Bizet's opera 'Carmen,' and J. Strauss's music.

In the second part of the concert, the world of jazz, tango, and chanson will invite us to sing along with vocalist Aija Vītoliņa.

This year will also bring a special moment as a new cherry blossom variety 'Vilis Plūdonis' has been created. Named after the poet in honor of his 150th anniversary, this cherry blossom is a wonderful gift in his memory.
