YOUR TIME
Time is the continuous sequence of existence and events in a logical order, characterized by the past, present, and future as a whole.
"YOUR TIME" is a somewhat philosophical and partly documentary program dedicated to the poet and publicist, Māris Čaklais. It is an inspiring story about time, art, and the human ability to leave indelible marks on the world, no matter the era we live in.
A stage story about bending time, about a person bending within time, about adapting to the times.
A close contemporary of Māris Čaklais, writer, publicist, and journalist - Ēriks Hānbergs has written several reminiscences sparks for the production “YOUR TIME” about Māris Čaklais:
“Continuously engaging!
In the seventies and eighties of the last century – every year with a new book!
Writing and inspiring: in editorial offices and publishing houses, in the newspapers “Soviet Youth” and “Literature and Art,” in the magazine “Flag,” at the publishing house “Flame,” on the radio “Free Europe.”
“In his youth, Māris's favorite poet was Jānis Dreslers. And his first published poem in the school
“magazine” in 1953 sounded quite like Dreslers:
“Stalin already lies in a sarcophagus
Poison has gripped his stomach.
Beria also disappears
With his golden series.”
When his father found the magazine, the young poet got a severe beating. But which path of art is without bruises?”
The “YOUR TIME” script was created by Mārtiņš Vilsons, and musicauthor Mārtiņš Egliens composed fresh songs with the poet Māris Čaklais's words.
Of course, there will also be some timeless classical music renditions that we associate with Čaklais's era.
This is already the second program where both Mārtiņšs will complement each other on stage, shoulder to shoulder.
A Cafe will be operational.
The event duration is approximately 2 hours with an intermission or as long as time-inspired conversations unfold.
During the event, filming and/or photography may occur. By purchasing a ticket and being present – the ticket holder agrees that photos and videos taken during the event, without identifying specific individuals, may be published and used to inform the public about the event.
