Turaidas Roze - 40!

The popular band "Turaidas Roze" celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and, in honor of this occasion, invites everyone to an anniversary concert together with the wind orchestra "Horizonts". On August 9th, all interested parties are warmly invited to attend the concert garden "Blow, Wind!"

"Ten years ago, we performed with the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, but this is our first collaboration with a wind orchestra consisting of more than 40 musicians. The idea for such a collaboration came to me while watching the very beautiful joint wind orchestra concert during last year's Song and Dance Festival at Andrejsala – especially the moment when they performed Imants Kalniņš's music from the film 'Blow, Wind!'. I approached the concert conductor Tomas Kokamegi, and we agreed to create a new "Turaidas Roze" concert program in collaboration with the wind orchestra "Horizonts". 

The instrumental group participating in the concerts will include: Jānis Miltiņš (keyboards), Tomass Ančs (cello), Jānis Rubiks (bass guitar), Aivars Gudrais (guitar), and Ernests Mediņš (percussion).
