Summer Solstice 2024

As the summer solstice approaches and the nights grow shorter, the Smiltene region invites everyone to the Midsummer festival celebrations! This is a time when nature comes alive in all its splendor, and the traditional Latvian festivities fill our hearts with joy and warmth. The Smiltene region offers a variety of events that will allow you to enjoy the magic of the festivities, blending ancient traditions with modern entertainment. Smiltene city and parish:

On June 9th, at 18:00 in the Smiltene library, Herbal Day activities "Weave the festivals in a wreath!" – wreath weaving, flower bouquet making, herbal sachet sewing together with herbal women from Madona in the Old Park of Smiltene outdoors. In case of rain – in the library premises, Dakteru Street 27.

On June 21st, from 21:00 until dawn at Līgo Hill in Smiltene, Summer Solstice celebration at Līgo Hill.

On June 22nd, from 8:00 to 15:00 in the center of Smiltene city, at Baznīcas Square, there will be a Midsummer market.

On June 23rd, at 22:00 at the Tepera Lake promenade, a Midsummer green ball with the band "Tirkizband" will take place. Entrance fee: 5.00 EUR, pre-sale at www.bilesuparadize.lv and Smiltene Culture Center box office.

On the day of the event, the entrance fee is 7.00 EUR.
