Summer Solstice Celebration in Aloja

On June 21 at 23:00, the band "Zelta kniede" will perform in the Secondary School Park. Visitors can also look forward to various events:

Firewalking competition;

Take me to Struņķu Hill;

Midsummer wreaths and crowns;

Find a fern flower;

Flower tent (where you can learn wreath making and other flower-related skills);

Tree tent (engaging in various activities with wood guided by SIA "Namdara workshop");

Sauna tent (dry birch beating and other sauna-related skills led by Ieva Arnavas from "Purva Īvas ceplis un pirtiņa");

Cheese tent (we will make homemade Midsummer cheese and enjoy it on maple leaves);

Tailor tent (making traditional costumes for dolls with Zanda Aderniece);

Choir "ALE", dance group "SĀNSOLIS";

Procession with bonfires from Sun Square to Struņķu Hill.

Everyone will sing Midsummer songs accompanied by the folklore group "Malībieši"

Summer Solstice is one of our folk traditions, and we want it to endure, so we invite everyone to participate and, to make the celebration even more beautiful, come in your original or stylized traditional costumes!
