Ventspils Organ Days 2024

The program is diverse:

March 14
16:30 Composer up close – Rihards Dubra, conversations and music. Admission free.
19:00 Vita Kalnciema's organ music concert "Dedicated to Brigit Mieze".

March 15
10:00-17:00 Masterclass in organ playing led by Prof. Vita Kalnciema. Admission free.
19:00 Concert "In Jazz Tones" – Aigars Raumanis (saxophone), Aigars Reinis (organ), Ernests Medins (percussion).

9:30-13:00 Masterclass in organ playing led by Prof. Vita Kalnciema. Admission free.
14:00 Concert of the participants of the Ventspils Organ Days 2024 Festival. Admission free.

The organ class of MIKC 'Ventspils Music School' is flourishing. It educates talented and motivated students to whom their skills and abilities are passed on by professional educators. The school can also boast a unique instrument in the Baltics with a movable playing table. In the words of organist Aigars Reinis – Ventspils is like one of Latvia's organ music centers, alongside Riga Cathedral.

The concert on March 14 is dedicated to Vita Kalnciema's first organ teacher, Brigit Mieze (1939-2019), whose work shines brightly in past recordings, sound recordings.

"Ventspils Organ Days 2024" is organized by the Ventspils Music School, supported by the Ventspils City Council and the State Cultural Capital Foundation.
