Passionate and ironic, melancholic and loving, witty and sharp, trusting and highly romantic. You will encounter such Jānis Peters in the "Wine Soul" performance, created in honor of our Master's 85th anniversary.

Through Jānis Peters' poetry, you will see a bit of the poets themselves in a different light, but most importantly - yourselves.

Taking center stage in the new ensemble will be Mārtiņš Egliens, who has specially composed 14 new songs for this show.

But at the heart of it all will be the Word. A word that will resonate through the performances of two excellent actors - 
Dita Lūriņa-Egliena and Gundars Grasbergs.

Poetry is alive. Poetry is captivating. Poetry is about You. 
Let's meet with eyes... ears... but, most importantly, with the heart.

"I want the role of the poet Jānis Peters to be the main focus this time. The poet.
His and Her spoken word has been and is the great 'wake-up call' for Latvians in significant moments of decision alongside Ziedonis, Vācietis, Belševica. His words 'deeply rooted in the earth, with branches in the sky' powerfully formulate the idea - 'what then is in between - on this Father's land?'. Because we ourselves try to say something, but often only reach 'but'...
Peters' poetic words have resonated and deeply touched me, and I knew that the moment would come when they would demand to be spoken aloud. Because, in my opinion... The poet's most fervent desire is this:
 
'I want to become a bell in my land,
That your hands tirelessly ring
From the unerring rhythms of folk song
And the bird's voice that belongs to the world.'"
