HE and SHE
This will be an evening where two cultures meet – Latvian and French – creating a unique world of sound between electronics, jazz, and folklore. On the Pegaza stage, two multi-instrumentalists with rich musical experience and a desire to surprise will perform.
She – Ilze Lejiņa, a Latvian saxophonist, has honed her skills not only at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music but also in Denmark and France. Ilze has played in the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, the opera orchestra, led the saxophone section of the band “Rīga,” and founded the quartet n[ex]t.
He – Fred Ormēns, a Frenchman who freely navigates between jazz, electro, funk, and salsa. He has performed with world-class musicians, including Jamal Thomas (Maceo Parker's drummer), collaborated with Candy Dulfer's team, and played saxophone solos on Laima Vaikule's album “Back Home.” In Latvia, he is often heard under the name Mister Goldhand.
On this evening, you will hear saxophones, guitar, violin, kokle, and other instruments, whose sounds will merge into an extraordinary concert program. Experience a concert that will make the world pause for a moment.
See you at Pegaza Courtyard on August 7th. The concert starts at 8:00 PM. Free entry.
The free concert series "Summer = In Liepāja" is realized with the financial support of the Liepāja Culture Department's project competition.
