AS "Liepaja Metalworks" Museum Add an Object
The exhibition is based on materials collected by the museum's founder and first director, Mihaels Aronsons. The metalworker's museum first opened its doors to visitors in the summer of 1980, and for over 18 years it was located in the Metalworker's Cultural Palace. The ceremonial event on September 25th was the long-awaited return of the museum to the people of Liepaja. In three exhibition halls, visitors can learn about the history of the metallurgical company and its early years of operation, as well as the life of the factory during Latvia's independence. Special attention is paid to the lives of the Liepaja metalworkers during the Soviet era. The conference hall, which will also serve as the home of the company's pensioner council, currently displays works by Liepaja painters and photographers, created during the summer plein air dedicated to the 125th anniversary of "Liepaja Metalworks," while working in the factory workshops and work areas.
