- Aizkraukle History and Art Museum "Kalna Ziedi"
Until the autumn of 1989, the museum was located in Koknese - from 1951 to 1966 - in a park cottage, from 1968 to 1989 in the Evangelical Lutheran Church building.
On November 18, 1989, people gathered in the courtyard of "Kalna Ziedi" to open the museum building with the exhibition "For My Latvia" - Jadviga Kluša's national belt and Jānis Tālbergs' photos. In January 1990, visitors were able to see the first permanent exhibition "The District in the Republic of Latvia".
For twenty years now, Aizkraukle History and Art Museum has called "Kalna Ziedi" its home.
"Kalna Ziedi" - a homestead on the banks of the Daugava River, which was purchased by Jēkabs Dannenfelds, the blacksmith of Aizkraukle Manor, in the 20th century. Jēkabs Dannenfelds had two daughters, the eldest of whom, Zelma, inherited "Kalna Ziedi". During the First World War, the house on the Daugava riverbank was destroyed. New houses were built opposite the ancestral hill. A residential house and farm buildings were constructed. Only the residential building had survived until the 1980s, which was donated to the city by the last owner of the house, Vilhelmīne Vabule (1901-1988).
Currently, the museum offers visitors the opportunity to explore the permanent exhibition "Tales of the Daugava Coast".
