Aleksandra Heights Hospital Add an Object
In 1710, Count Aleksandr Menshikov, 8 km from Riga, for strategic purposes, had a hill built, which was named after him as Aleksandra Heights. Then, on May 10, 1820, the Vidzeme Public Welfare College started the construction of "God-pleasing institutions" here, including the first psychiatric hospital in the Baltic states.
