Alunāns Park Add an Object
The park is located on the site of the former Jānis Cemetery. The grave site and the monument to Ādolfs Alunāns, the father of Latvian theater, built in 1913 by sculptor Burkards Dzenis, have been preserved. The park also features a monument to Juris Māters, one of the activists of the Latvian national awakening and founder of the Jelgava Latvian Society, who was buried in the Jānis Cemetery.
