House of Crafts Add an Object
The House of Crafts is located in the oldest school building in the Duchy of Courland, built in the 18th century and transformed into a modern cultural and sightseeing attraction. In the mid-19th century, it housed a district school where the renowned folklorist Krišjānis Barons studied. The House of Crafts has a classroom set up to resemble those of that time. The building houses functioning workshops for photography, weaving, and pottery, as well as a souvenir shop called 'Ventiņpūrlād'. The House of Crafts regularly hosts art and craft exhibitions, ceramics, and graphics symposiums.
