Memorial Museum "Kalna Kaibēni" of the Kaudzīši Brothers Add an Object
The Matīss and Reinis Kaudzīši Memorial Museum is the oldest memorial museum in Latvia, where the brothers' most famous novel "Mērnieku laiki" was created. Visitors can see the layout of the writers' living quarters, household items, and travel memorabilia that have survived to this day.
Since winter 2020, a viewing platform has been available to visitors in the "Kalna Kaibēni" garden, in a historically significant location. The height of the first floor corresponds to the height of Matīss Kaudzīte's construction. The second floor is built for a broader enjoyment of the landscape. Due to modern safety regulations, it was not possible to construct the platform in a historical manner. Visitors to the platform can obtain information about the life and work of the Kaudzīši brothers. There is also an opportunity to stay overnight.
