Central Market Add an Object
The Central Market is the central and largest market in Riga. It is located in the city center, in the Maskavas suburb, to the south of the City Canal (Kārlis Basin), opposite the Riga International Bus Station. It is bounded by Maskavas, Gogola, and Turgeņeva streets on other sides.
Nowadays, the market is a popular shopping destination as well as an interesting sightseeing spot for tourists. It is still one of the largest marketplaces in the city centers of European cities, with an area of 72,300 m2 in 2002. The approximate number of market visitors ranges from 40,000 to 160,000 per day.
