Codes Lutheran Church Add an Object

Codes Lutheran Church. A wooden church, built around the second half of the 16th century, but when Christian von Schröder owned Code, the construction of a brick church began in 1680. The church was built in simple forms typical of Kurzeme and Zemgale rural churches, with a square tower adorned with a gilded weathercock. The chancel of the church has remained unchanged. Several pastors of Code, the headmaster of Code Elementary School Jēkabs Rudlaps, and soldiers who died in World War I are buried in the church cemetery.
