Jewish Synagogue Add an Object

The Rezekne Synagogue, also known as the Green Synagogue, is also referred to as Beth Midrash ("house of study") in literature. In 2004, it was included in the list of 100 most endangered cultural monuments in Latvia by the State Inspection for the Protection of Cultural Monuments. The Green Synagogue in Rezekne is the only wooden synagogue in Latvia that has survived almost intact to this day. In 2005, a technical project for the reconstruction of the synagogue was developed at the request of the Rezekne Jewish Community. The project includes restoration of the original layout structure, as well as restoration of windows, ceilings, floors, and finishes, and repair of damaged structural and decorative elements.
