Temple of Aeolus
The Temple of Aeolus was built in the 18th century and dedicated to the Greek god of the winds, Aeolus. In the center of the temple, on a granite pedestal, there used to be a statue of Aeolus. The temple is made of hewn stones with embedded iron supports that hold the dome of the temple. The dome used to be adorned with a golden circle that somewhat resembled the face of the sun (now restored), hence sometimes this building is also referred to as the Temple of the Sun. It had a decorative and entertaining function - inside, at the center of the dome structure, there were four organs that played. Later, the organs were removed because the noise during storms was so loud that it disturbed the sleep of the castle inhabitants.
