Gaujiena Manor Add an Object

Gaujiena Manor in the Gaujiena parish is not just one building, but a manor ensemble that includes several buildings and a park. The oldest building is the manor barn, built in 1788, as well as the distillery. Around 1830, the manor lord's house was built, and in 1838, the manor servants' apartments and utility buildings with a carriage house on the second floor, also known as the 'spritz house'. The ensemble also includes the coachman's house, the wheelwright's workshop, the gardener's house, the greenhouse, the ice cellar, and the brewery house, where travelers can still drink water from the 'Lion's Mouth' spring today.

The park on the right bank of the Gauja Valley is also significant. It consists of several separate territories that form a unified landscape system. The upper part includes the central buildings of the manor with a parade courtyard, while in the southern part of the park, in the slope of the Gauja ancient valley, there is a valley with high-quality three-level landscapes, ponds, and garden architecture elements.

The memorial museum 'Anniņas' is also located on the grounds of the manor ensemble - the summer house of Jāzeps Vītols, a Latvian composer and the founder of the Latvian Conservatory.

Guided services are available, and visitors can also purchase various souvenirs.
