Gulbene - Alūksne Narrow-Gauge Railway
The Alūksne station building, located in the D section of Alūksne, was opened in 1903. It is the best starting point for a journey on a narrow-gauge railway. The narrow-gauge railway line from Alūksne to Gulbene has been preserved to this day and is the only narrow-gauge railway in Latvia used for regular passenger traffic. The narrow-gauge train takes about one and a half hours to reach Gulbene (33 km).
