Jānis Daliņš Stadium Add an Object
Jānis Daliņš Stadium is an open athletics and football stadium located in Valmiera. It was opened in 1938. The stadium was needed to host international competitions and to accommodate everyone who wanted to see Jānis Daliņš, the most famous Latvian athlete of that time. In 1932, he won a silver medal at the Los Angeles Olympic Games and set multiple world records in racewalking. The stadium was named after Jānis Daliņš during the third awakening period. The first Three Star Games were held at this stadium, and every summer the State President's Prize in athletics is awarded there.
Jānis Daliņš Stadium is managed by the company SIA "Vidzemes Olimpiskais centrs".
