Aleksandrs Štrāls (1879.12.VI - 1947.7.X), painter. Jānis Jaunsudrabiņš (1877.25.VIII-1962.28.VIII) was a Latvian writer, novelist, and painter. From 1913 to 1915, he lived in his house in Pļaviņas and wrote the story collections "Dzīve" (Life) and "Debess vārti" (Heaven's Gates), as well as the second part of the novel "Aija".
