New Riga Theatre Add an Object
The New Riga Theatre (NRT) is a professional Latvian theatre, founded in 1992.It is located in Riga, at 25 Lāčplēša Street, where the Riga New Theatre was situated in the early 20th century, and later from 1920 to 1979 it was the Dailes Theatre, and until 1992 it was the Youth Theatre.
The first artistic director of NRT from 1992 to 1997 was Juris Rijnieks. Since 1997, the theatre's main director is Alvis Hermanis.
