Art Nouveau City (Alberta Street) Add an Object
Alberta Street was established in 1900, on April 13, in connection with the 700th anniversary of Riga. It was named after Albrecht, the founder of Riga, in his memory. After the occupation of Latvia, the street was renamed Friča Gaiļa Street on April 28, 1941, Hartknochstraße in 1941, and Hollanderstraße on April 16, 1942. On October 23, 1944, the name Friča Gaiļa Street was restored, and on November 16, 1990, it regained its current name.
