Sea Pigeon Station Add an Object
In Karosta, at 6 Pulkveza Brieza Street, there is a peculiar, tower-shaped building made of the characteristic red bricks of the old Karosta architecture. The Sea Pigeon Station existed in Karosta for almost two decades. The Sea Pigeon Station was built in 1899-1890 and planned for 450 carrier pigeons. Carrier pigeons were used for communication with ships at sea.
