Jurmala Park

Jurmala Park is the pride of Liepaja. It was started in the late 19th century. This 3 km long park covers an area of 70 ha and is currently one of the largest planted parks in Latvia. The park is home to around 140 local and foreign plant species. Jurmala Park is the location of Latvia's largest drum - one of Liepaja's environmental design objects, reminding us that Liepaja is the music capital of Latvia. It has a history of concert performances with "Blow, Winds!". Many concerts and festivals have taken place here, but the most famous and legendary one is the "Liepaja Amber" festival, which can also be considered the oldest rock festival in the Soviet Union, as it first took place in 1968.
