Kārlis Skalbe's House "Saulrieti" Add an Object
Kārlis Skalbe, the well-known master of fairy tales, named his house "Saulrieti" because of the rosy evening light that flowed into the house through the glass wall of the upper floor. It was here that the Skalbe family rested in the summers, and it was here that Skalbe drew inspiration for his literary work.
The house has been operating as a museum since 1987. Nearby are the graves of K. Skalbe, his wife, and daughter.
Visitors to the museum territory can enjoy the fairy tale path "Enter the Fairy Tale!" and the sauna exhibition.
