Up to 15 meters high, 200 meters wide sandstone cliffs of the Gauja River. At this cliff, the Gauja River bends - forming a semicircular shape with the cliffs.
At the riverside, a 15-meter high sandstone ledge, resembling a detached pyramid, stands out in vibrant colors. The rest of the cliff is not next to the river, it is covered by shrubs. Here the slopes are significantly higher than 15 meters, and there are also tall overhangs. Many ravines. Until noon, the cliff is illuminated by the sun - then it is particularly beautiful. Throughout the length of the cliffs, visible erosion grooves and niches can be seen. The highest groove marks the level of the Gauja River during the formation of the first terrace surface.
