The Latvian Museum of Photography is a museum in Riga,
where Latvian photographic works are stored and exhibited.

It is the first museum
in the city dedicated to photography.
The museum was opened in 1993 as a branch of the Riga History and Navigation Museum. The museum is located in a historically
rich Riga merchant's house, which was inhabited in this house in the 16th century.

The museum's permanent
exhibition shows the development of photographic art in Latvia from 1839 to 1941, as well as various
photographic techniques, equipment, and archival documents. The specialized library
houses thematic books and magazines. The museum regularly holds contemporary
master photo exhibitions, thematic seminars, and conferences.
