National Library of Latvia Add an Object
The library, also known as the Castle of Light, is located in the building designed by Gunārs Birkerts since 2014. The main task of the National Library of Latvia (NLL) is to create, preserve, and ensure long-term accessibility of the national literary collection. The NLL collection includes over 4 million items - books, manuscripts, audio recordings, maps, etc.
NLL offers group tours of the library, a 360-degree virtual tour, as well as room rentals. Regular exhibitions and various events, such as book launches, take place here.
