Lielais laukums Add an Object

A decision has been made at the meeting of the City Development Commission of Ventspils City Council to properly cut down certain trees currently present in the square, including a spruce with a very steep crown near the planned fountains, and two poplars near the intersection of Pāvils and Ganību Streets, replacing them with new plantings. However, the square is planned to be enhanced with new accents. Seventeen bog oaks have already been purchased. The row of oaks is intended to create one of the main visual lines, looking from the side of Lielais prospekts and the intersection of Ganību Street towards the future music school and acoustic concert hall building. In the three highest relief elevations, 31 decorative apple trees will be planted. Similarly, the Great Square will also feature brightly colored low-growing plantings, with the main structure consisting of trimmed shrubs of vibrant foliage colors, supplemented with summer flowers, spring bulb flowers, and winter-hardy plants.
