Liepaja Lake
A lagoon-type lake formed by the retreat of the Baltic Sea. It is an important nesting and migratory site for waterbirds. During the nesting period, several endangered bird species in Europe, such as the great and little bittern, find refuge in Liepaja Lake. The lake and its surrounding meadows are a nature reserve. Two bird observation towers have been installed on the lake, and there is also a boardwalk at the end of Lauku Street that leads to the lake.
