Livonian Order Castle Add an Object

Ventspils Medieval Castle (German: Schloß Windau) is a castle built by the Livonian Order on the left bank of the Venta River before it flows into the Baltic Sea, which served as the residence of the Ventspils Commander (around 1290-1562) during the medieval times. It is the only surviving castle of the Livonian Order in Kurzeme that has been preserved to this day.
