Madonna Orans Add an Object
Located on Rīgas Street 30, near Rūjiena Secondary School, which was built in 1964 on the ruins of the church school that was blown up in the autumn of 1944,
stands the sculpture "Madonna Orans" created by sculptor Kārlis Zemdega.
This monument depicts a young woman with a baby and was erected in 1936 in memory of the drowned church school teacher Jūlija Skujiņa. Legends about this monument have persisted to this day.
