ManegeThe Manege was built in 1903-1904. The building had a lightweight, truss metal structure and a roof covered with slate. In order to illuminate the enormous space, arched windows were designed and glass strips were embedded in the roof covering. Before World War I, on Sundays, cavalry horse parades and equestrian competitions were held in the Manege. During weekdays, the space was used for military gymnastics exercises. The Manege, which could accommodate more than 4000 people, also hosted official receptions and ceremonial meals for the military.
