Seaside Open-Air Museum Add an Object
The Seaside Open-Air Museum is a branch of the Ventspils Museum. It introduces visitors to the everyday life of the inhabitants of the Kurzeme coastal region. Visitors can learn about the development of fishing, view various boats and a wide collection of anchors, fishermen's buildings, and other objects. One of the most notable exhibits is a narrow-gauge railway train, known as a 'mazbānītis,' which regularly operated between the fishing villages of Northern Kurzeme after World War II. The museum was opened in 1954.
