Monument to Aleksandrs Čaks Add an Object
Aleksandrs Čaks (born October 27, 1901 —February 8, 1950) was a Latvian poet and writer. As a result of harsh criticism, A.Čaks fell ill and died of a heart attack at the age of 48 on February 8, 1950.A. Čaks is buried in the Rainis Cemetery. One ofthe main streets in Riga is named after Čaks, and it is also wherehis museum and monument are located in the Ziedoņdārzs Park. The monument was unveiledin 1981, designed by architect Oļģerts Ostenbergs and sculptor Lūcija Žurgina.
