Monument to Composer Alfrēds Kalniņš Add an Object
The monument to Alfrēds Kalniņš is a monument to the Latvian composer Alfrēds Kalniņš, located in Riga. It was unveiled on August 23, 1979, on Kalniņš' centenary. Originally, it was located near the Latvian National Opera, but during the reconstruction of the National Opera in 1998, it was moved to the other side of the City Canal, in the greenery of the canal embankment, near the intersection of Krišjānis Barons Street and Raiņa Boulevard, facing the National Opera. Sculptor T.Zaļkalns, performer Kārlis Baumanis, architects Ilgvars Batrags and Georgs Baumanis.
