Rainis and Aspazija Memorial Summer House Add an Object

The memorial museum of poets is located in a summer house that Rainis acquired in the autumn of 1926. The poets spent their summers there from 1927 to 1929. Rainis passed away in this house on September 12, 1929.

The museum consists of a complex of buildings that represent a typical example of Jurmala's wooden architecture and are a nationally significant historical monument. The poets' summer house and garden cottage were built in the late 19th century. The neighboring building was constructed in the early 20th century, with Art Nouveau influences evident in its architecture. The museum was opened in 1949, and the expanded museum complex was completed in 1969.
