Riga Aviation Technology Museum Add an Object
The museum has been established over a period of 40 years, but officially exists since 1997. Riga Aviation Museum has no counterpart in the Baltic States and is one of the largest in Europe. The museum is proud to have the richest collection of aviation technology available outside the CIS borders. The origins of the museum can be traced back to 1965, when the "New Pilots Club" was established in Riga, named after the German-Baltic inventor Friedrich Cander. The organizational difficulties were taken on by aviation engineer Viktors Talpa, who was working at the time in the Latvian Civil Aviation Administration. Currently, Riga Aviation Museum is located on the territory of Riga Airport, next to the terminal.
