Monument to the Mayor of Riga George (George) Armitstead and his partner Cecilie Pihlau, located on Riga Canal Embankment, near the National Opera Bridge. Bronze cast (900 kg). Author: sculptor A.Vārpa. The monument was unveiled by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on October 18, 2006. Also present at the unveiling was George Armitstead's great-grandson Rodnij Radklif. A gift to Riga from Rodnija Redklifa and Jevgenija Gomberga.
