Island Bridge Add an Object
The Island Bridge (previously known as Moscow Bridge) is the longest bridge over the Daugava River in Riga. The bridge was opened on December 10, 1976. The total length of the bridge is 3.5 km and it consists of 21 structures: 2 main bridges, 9 viaducts, 5 road overpasses, 3 tunnels, and 2 footbridges. The bridge crosses the Kojusala Canal, Zvirgzdusala, Daugava River, Zaksala, Mazais Daugava, Lucavsala, and Bieksengravis. The bridge connects Lacplesa Street and Krasta Street with Karla Ulmana Street and Mukusalas Street.
