Red Cross Hospital Add an Object

The Red Cross Hospital is located at Jāņa Asara Street 3. The main building of the hospital was built from 1909 to 1912 according to F. Šefels' project, while the adjacent buildings were built in 1933 according to A. Klinklāvs' project.

The construction of the hospital buildings was funded by the Red Cross and the Russian Imperial Government. It was opened to patients in 1919. The hospital was initially intended for surgical operations and the training of compassionate nurses. Initially, it operated as the Latvian-Red Cross Hospital during the years of Russian-Latvian independence, but later it was renamed Riga 4th Hospital.
