Bridge over the Gauja River near Strenči Add an Object

The construction of the bridge was supervised by engineer Verners according to his own developed project. The construction was completed in autumn of 1909. The length of the bridge is 97.5 meters and the width of the roadway is 4.5 meters. During World War I, the middle support of the bridge was blown up. It was restored in 1921-1922. In the spring flood of 1929, the Gauja River washed away the embankment and the bridge abutment on the right bank of the bridge. The bridge deck was expanded by building an additional support in the river.
