Watermill
The watermill is a magnificent part of the historical landscape and a local architectural monument. The massive masonry building with a thatched roof and construction on stilts was built in the late 18th or early 19th century. The building has several historical architectural details - old-style entrance doors with a transom window, metal crafts - window grilles, and iron anchors. In 1923, a metal turbine was installed in the mill, replacing the previous wooden wheels. The mill produced various types of flour, semolina, porridge, and groats. The mill declined in the mid-20th century when collective farms established their own grinding mills. In 1998, SIA “Oms” established a small hydroelectric power plant in the watermill in Aizpute.
