Water Tower Add an Object
The Water Tower is located in the territory of Liepāja Naval Base, at 29 Ģenerāļa Jāna Baloža Street.
The Water Tower is associated with pages of Latvian Liberation War history, as in November 1919, during the retreat of the Bermont-Avalov major von Plehve group /approximately 5000 soldiers/ from the Latvian Army, telephone communication from the tower was used to direct/adjust the artillery fire of allied British warships, which played a decisive role in the retreat battles.
