Elk Oak Tree in Usma Add an Object
The Elk Oak Tree is located in Elkraga near Lake Usma, where there used to be a well-known cult site. From the old Elk Oak Tree, only two remain today - one with a circumference of 4.10 m and the other - 2.80 m. There are also younger offshoots, which together form the total cluster of oak trees. The oak tree is located in the former schoolyard, easily and conveniently accessible, and can be visited together with other interesting objects - nearby is the Elkraga nature trail, Usma manor, church, and beach. There is parking available for those traveling by private car.
There is a belief that in ancient times, our ancestors placed offerings under the oak tree for the spirits, and those who broke a branch were punished for it. More information about the oak tree can be found on site, both from the explanatory sign and from the local residents.
