V. Jēriņa Doll Collection
The V. Jēriņa Doll Collection is on display in four small rooms and has been collected over 30 years. Valda Jēriņa was a master of leather processing, an active self-worker, actress, and collector. One of her passions was collecting dolls and dressing them in unique homemade costumes, which gained her recognition and widespread fame.
The collection currently consists of about 500 different dolls, not only from Latvia but also from other countries (Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania, Australia, Russia, Ukraine). The first costume was made after the Song Festival in 1973.
A playroom has been created for children, where they can play with dolls, play a mind game about the castles and manors of Aizpute district, and also stage doll theater performances.
